It was January 1, 1967. Minus 13 degrees. Lambeau Field was frozen solid, referee whistles froze mid-blow, and fans lost fingers to frostbite. Yet 50,861 people stayed.

With 16 seconds left and the Packers trailing, Bart Starr looked Vince Lombardi in the eye and said he wanted to sneak it in himself. Lombardi didn't flinch.

"Run it. And let's get the hell out of here."

Starr followed Jerry Kramer's block, pushed through the line, and fell into the end zone. Green Bay won 21-17. No heating system. No complaints. Just football played in conditions that would shut down a city today. They called it the Ice Bowl. Nobody who was there ever forgot it. Neither should we.
