Another day of training camps is officially in the books! Here are our key takeaways from the recent sessions:

  • Bears OL Kiran Amegadjie is making a push for playing time behind Braxton Jones and Jedrick Wills thanks to a string of consistent practices.

  • The battle for the starting guard spot took a turn when the Chargers' second-year lineman, Branson Taylor, logged every left-guard rep alongside Justin Herbert.

  • Giants WR Malik Nabers continues his steady recovery, turning in his individual drills of the summer as he prepares for a larger practice workload.

  • A physical session proved costly for the Broncos, with WR Marvin Mims Jr., TE Nate Adkins, and DL Matt Henningsen all sidelined after getting hurt.

  • Patriots QB Drake Maye shined in practice, tossing touchdowns to Romeo Doubs and TreVeyon Henderson before capping the day with a successful two-minute drill.

The inaugural Hall of Fame Game was played on 11 August 1962 (ending in a 21-21 tie between the New York Giants and St. Louis Cardinals). This means the tradition actually predates the very first Super Bowl by more than four years. It originally served as a fundraiser to help break ground on building the actual Hall of Fame museum in Canton, Ohio. 

The New York Giants initially dominated, storming out to a 21-0 lead. However, the St. Louis Cardinals clawed their way back, sealing the tie in the third quarter.
