BREAKING: Browns Announce Starting QB

Publication by EssentiallySports | August 24, 2026 | Edition #536 |
Hey Folks,
It’s official! Browns head coach Todd Monken had to choose between Shedeur Sanders and Deshaun Watson for QB1. And he’s not waiting until the end of preseason to make his pick.

Todd Monken has picked between Shedeur Sanders, Deshaun Watson and Dillon Gabriel.

Who do you think should start for the Browns? |

Since returning to the NFL in 1999, the Cleveland Browns have started more than 40 different quarterbacks, far more than any other franchise.
That revolving door includes multiple first-round draft picks, high-profile trades, and short-term veterans, yet the team has rarely found lasting stability at the position.
Two notable exceptions stand out: Tim Couch, the original No. 1 overall pick who still ranks among the franchise’s leaders in starts and wins from that era, and Baker Mayfield, who provided the most sustained success by leading the Browns to an 11-5 record and a playoff berth in 2020.
