BREAKING: Chiefs OC’s Wife Shot

Publication by EssentiallySports | July 27, 2026 | Edition #490 |
Hey Folks,
For Chiefs OC Eric Bieniemy, an ordinary day at training camp took an unexpected turn after an incident unfolded at his home. His wife was reportedly hospitalized with a gunshot wound. While authorities are still working to determine exactly what happened, here are more details on the case…

The coach and his family members are dealing with a tragic ordeal.

Do you think the Chiefs’ offense can stay on track if Bieniemy misses more training camp time? |

During the entire 2020 NFL season, Eric Bieniemy made a personal sacrifice to help lead Kansas City back to the Super Bowl. To keep his wife and children safe during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, Bieniemy checked into a hotel at the start of training camp and stayed there for a full six months, straight through Super Bowl LV.
His oldest son, Eric Bieniemy III, lives with cerebral palsy and respiratory issues, placing him at extremely high risk for complications from the virus. Even with daily testing protocols across the NFL, Bieniemy refused to take any chances of exposing his son before a potential positive result could show up.
So, for half a year, his interaction with his family was limited to brief Friday visits home, where he wore a mask and maintained distance in a separate room.
