Long before he was terrorizing NFL defenses, Derrick Henry was already royalty. While "King Henry" sounds like a simple play on his last name, the moniker actually belongs to his high school days. 

According to The Tennessean, the nickname "started gaining traction about the time [Henry] started chasing the high school rushing record."

Local TV broadcasts and fan banners began crowning him based on that nickname. He embraced the crown early, updating his social handles to match the nickname way back in 2012 before ever stepping foot on a college field.
