Eberflus & Defense Become Cowboys' Scapegoat

September 05, 2025 Edition #110 |
👋 Hey Gridiron Gang! The Philadelphia Eagles are 1-0 after edging the Dallas Cowboys 24-20 in the NFL Kickoff Game. It wasn’t pretty: Jalen Carter got tossed before taking a snap, an hour-long lightning delay stopped everything, and CeeDee Lamb forgot how to catch. Yet Jalen Hurts and Saquon Barkley steadied the Birds when it mattered, and Kevin Patullo flashed promise in his OC debut. Sloppy penalties and injuries are early concerns, but a division win is a division win. |

Cowboys Pin the Blame on Matt Eberflus & Defense |
The Cowboys’ defense had a rough first half, failing to generate pressure on Jalen Hurts while Saquon Barkley ran effectively. Eberflus tried adjusting in the second half, but it wasn’t enough to turn the tide. |

Did Jalen Carter do the right thing? |

Guyton snuck in a left hook on an Eagles rusher—mid-play—and the refs missed it. Wild.
