Do you think the NFL should go international at the cost of having 18 games? |

Before Harrison Butker was kicking 60-yarders, Jan Stenerud was the original playmaker in the NFL.
A Norwegian ski jumper who didn’t touch a football until his senior year of college, Stenerud brought a soccer-style instep kick to a league of old-school toe-kickers. To the 1960s scouts, seeing his accuracy and range was like watching someone bring a laser to a sword fight; he didn't just play the position, he transformed the physics of the game.
He cemented that legacy in Super Bowl IV, effectively breaking the Vikings' spirit before the half. On a rain-soaked field, Stenerud walked out and casually kicked three field goals, including a 48-yard dagger that felt impossible at the time.
Those points gave the Chiefs the breathing room to suffocate Minnesota, proving a kicker could be a definitive resource for the team. He walked away with a ring and a gold jacket, officially turning a part-time role into a specialized position.
