Joe Burrow Threatened to Leave Bengals (low send)

Publication by EssentiallySports | April 23, 2026 | Edition #379 |

Hey Folks,
For years, Joe Burrow has been the unwavering backbone of the Cincinnati Bengals. But after last season’s performance exposed deeper cracks, something seems to have shifted. This time, Burrow drew a line. With murmurs of a potential exit looming in the background, the star QB appears to be tying his future to a bold roster call centered around a game-changing defensive presence.

Bengals pushed to the edge as Joe Burrow’s ultimatum sparks unexpected franchise shift.

Did the Bengals finally shift their team culture by caving to Burrow's demand, or did they set a dangerous precedent? |

The Chiefs announced Thursday that former LB Derrick Johnson will be inducted into the team's Hall of Fame during the 2026 season. CEO Clark Hunt called Derrick one of the “all-time greats” and was the cornerstone of the franchise.
The Ravens are picking up the fifth-year $28 option on two-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Zay Flowers. It will keep Flowers under contract through the 2027 season and give the Ravens and Flowers additional time to work out a long-term deal.
Sean McDermott is taking a year break. The fired Bills coach is getting accustomed to his new life outside coaching this spring and will happily remain in it for the duration of the 2026 season, but he's not taking his eye off the ball.
Patriots coach Mike Vrabel is seeking counselling and will not be with the team for Day 3 of the NFL Draft on Saturday, following the publication of photos of the coach and longtime NFL reporter Dianna Russini at an Arizona resort.

The 1992 NFL Draft is widely cited as the worst in modern history, primarily because it is the only class since 1960 to produce zero Pro Football Hall of Famers across 336 total selections.
The first-round quarterback selections, David Klingler (No. 6) and Tommy Maddox (No. 25), failed to establish themselves as long-term starters. Both retired with more career interceptions than touchdowns.
For the first time since 1958, the Indianapolis Colts held the first two overall picks and selected defensive tackle Steve Emtman and linebacker Quentin Coryatt. Both became massive busts due to major injuries and inconsistent play.
The perceived failure of this class was so significant that it catalyzed the NFL to reduce the draft length from 12 rounds to eight (and later seven) starting in 1993.
