Lamar Responsible for Ravens' Loss?

September 08, 2025 Edition #114

👋 Hey football fans,

Week 1 kicked off with plenty of storylines: the Packers dominated the Lions in a divisional showdown, Aaron Rodgers and Justin Fields faced off after swapping teams, several rookies made promising first impressions, and the Dolphins struggled in a rough start to the season while Bills wreaked havoc.

Let’s huddle up…

Allen vs. Jackson Delivers Week 1 Classic

Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson rarely disappoint when they share a field. Sunday night’s season opener in Buffalo was their most dramatic duel yet, a game that swung wildly before Allen engineered one of the most improbable comebacks of his career. Down 15 with under four minutes left, he threw for a touchdown, ran for another, then marched the Bills 71 yards in 86 seconds to set up Matt Prater’s 32-yard winner in a 41-40 thriller.

Jackson matched him stride for stride most of the night, flashing efficiency as a passer and danger as a runner, while Derrick Henry bullied his way to 169 yards and two scores. But Henry’s late fumble opened the door, and Allen slammed it shut. For Baltimore, it was a crushing reminder of how quickly momentum can vanish; their defense, dominant for three quarters, had no answers once Allen found a rhythm. As Week 1 statements go, this was as loud as it gets - Buffalo showing it can climb out of the deepest hole against one of the AFC’s most complete rosters.

Steelers vs. Jets: Revenge, Redemption, and Rodgers

Aaron Rodgers’ Pittsburgh debut was part revenge, part revelation. At MetLife, the site of two seasons gone wrong, he threw four touchdowns, posted a 136.7 passer rating, the best by a Steelers quarterback in seven years, and orchestrated the 37th fourth-quarter comeback of his career in a 34-32 win. Chris Boswell’s 60-yard kick and a late breakup by Jalen Ramsey sealed the scoreboard.

But it was Rodgers’ presence (his throws, his composure, his words, “I was happy to beat everyone associated with the Jets”) that dominated the night. Even Justin Fields’ sharp debut for the Jets, 16-of-22 for 266 yards and three touchdowns, couldn’t outshine the narrative of a quarterback who looked reborn in black and gold.

Packers vs. Lions: Micah Parsons Sets the Tone

Green Bay came out swinging and never let up. Jordan Love scored on the first three drives, and Micah Parsons was everywhere, bulling through Penei Sewell and making life miserable for Detroit’s offense. The Packers’ defense held the Lions to just 13 points, and it wasn’t just Parsons carrying the day - the line, the linebackers, and the secondaries all showed up. Detroit looked flat, missing Ben Johnson, Frank Ragnow, and Kevin Zeitler, and Sunday felt like a glimpse of a team still trying to figure out who it is. Green Bay walked out of Lambeau with a clear message: they’re not messing around this season.

There’s no way Dallas isn’t going to miss that magic this season.

Joe Burrow and the Bengals walked away with a tight 17-16 win over the Browns in their Sunday season opener. Still, you could tell Burrow wasn't exactly thrilled. Read to know where he felt they went wrong.

Tom Brady couldn’t resist throwing a playful jab at Rob Gronkowski during Fox NFL Sunday. Watch the full exchange of the hilarious reunion between two legends!

After the Colts’ win over the Dolphins, Kalen Jackson shared a heartfelt message honoring her father as the team celebrated a dominant performance.
