NFL Finally Admits Scheduling Mistake

Publication by EssentiallySports | May 19, 2026 | Edition #408 |
Hey Folks,
The NFL has a football game for every occasion. Thanksgiving, Christmas, Black Friday, New Year's Eve, if there's a holiday, the league is slapping a game on it. And now, for the first time, the NFL is actually admitting it may have gone too far.

All from Slack. Same colleague that also pulls your reports and monitors your dashboards. 5,700+ teams. 3,000+ integrations.

Ever wonder why you never see a player wearing number 0?
For decades, it was essentially banned due to numbering standardization. However, the league changed the rule in 2023, allowing every position except offensive and defensive linemen to wear it.
What's more obscure is that the number '00' used to be legal as well (famously worn by Raiders Hall of Famer Jim Otto). While '0' is back, '00' remains strictly prohibited by the modern NFL rulebook.
