Another day of training camps is officially in the books! Here are 5 key takeaways from the recent sessions:
Chiefs rookie CB Jadon Canady stood out during the red-zone 7-on-7 session by intercepting a pass from QB Justin Fields at the goal line.
Seahawks’ WR Cooper Kupp had several catches in practice, highlighted by a diving one-handed catch on a pass from QB Sam Darnold.
Rams CB Jaylen Watson deflected a deep pass from QB Stetson Bennett IV, which S Kam Kinchens corralled for a diving interception.
With Patriots veteran RT Morgan Moses sitting out team drills, rookie OT Caleb Lomu filled in at his position while also taking reps as a jumbo TE.
Panthers WR Xavier Legette hauled in several passes at practice, including a touchdown on a "go" route from QB Bryce Young during individual drills.
Trent Williams has embraced his “Silverback” nickname so completely that it has become part of his identity. The name originated in Oklahoma, where teammates compared his dominant playing style to a silverback gorilla.
Back in 2010, when he was drafted by Washington, Williams even convinced Roger Goodell to announce him that way. His fascination with gorillas has since inspired a massive back tattoo, gorilla-themed artwork in his home, and the “Silverback” documentary, which chronicles his battle with cancer and football journey.
